19 Crimes Red Blend 2016, Australia

Dark ruby in color with a wide reddish rim.

Light nose of blueberries, plums, cherries, licorice, oak, earth, light vegetables, pencil lead, chocolates, smoke, spices, tobacco leaf and black pepper.

Full bodied, jammy and bold, with medium acidity and nice legs.

Dry and fruity on the palate with blackberries, plums, sweet cherries, dried figs, tobacco, spices, wood, vanilla, cloves, dark coffee, chocolates and peppercorn.

Medium finish with soft tannins and tangy cranberries.

This Australian Red Blend is always enjoyable. Not very sophisticated, but nicely balanced with a tangy finish. Good right out of the bottle, and good for parties. Might be too fruity for some. A good everyday wine.

13.5% alcohol by volume.

87 Points.

$11.

  1. Yes their marketing is quite amazing and unusual. But educational and somehow “entertaining “. Thank you for mentioning that wine : it was so easy to remember without having to check my notes, I bought a selection of them and tried first their Cabernet Sauvignon : excellent too ! I found it similar to what you say about the red blend, fruity smooth and for the price point it’s a go to wine for everyday ! (In New Jersey we can find those between 8 to 10 dollars)
