Juan Gil Monastrell Silver Label 2014 Jumilla, Spain

My Rating 88 Points.

Price $18.

Cloudy ruby in color with a reddish rim.

Light nose of blueberries, cranberries, plums, cherries, currants, oak, vanilla, licorice, earth spices, peppercorn, leather, smoke, metals and green pepper.

Medium to full bodied with medium acidity and nice legs.

Dry on the palate with plums, cherries, licorice, oak, vanilla, green vegetables, herbs, chocolates, wood, leather, earth, tobacco, forest floor, graphite and peppercorn.

Nice finish with firm tannins and tangy cherries.

This Monastrell never disappoints.
Nicely balanced with a great mouthfeel.

Good right out of the bottle, but much better after an hour in a decanter. A Great value red wine, always enjoyable by itself or with food.

I paired it with Manchego cheese, crackers and walnuts.

15% alcohol by volume.
