This is tasty sparkling wine from Spain. Showing citrus, lemons, green apples, minerals, light yeast and white pepper.

Medium bodied with medium plus acidity and small bubbles.

Nicely balanced with a nice mouthfeel. Not bitter nor tart. Very tasty with mild complexity. I really enjoyed the mouthfeel.

Vara Winery Silverhead Brut Cava Non-Vintage, Spain

Golden in color.

Strong nose of citrus, yeast, light grapefruits, red apples, spices, minerals and white pepper.

Medium plus in body with medium plus acidity, and medium sized bubbles.

Dry on the palate with lemons, citrus, green apples, grapefruits, bitter herbs, bread, spices, vegetables, white pepper, yeast and minerals.

Medium finish with bitter almonds.

This is a very enjoyable sparkling wine from Spain. Nicely balanced with mild complexity. Crisp and refreshing.

This Cava is made in the traditional method.

Good by itself or with food. A nice pool too. I had it all by itself.

A blend of Macabeo, Xarello, and Parellada.

Bitch Bubbly Sparkling Non Vintage, Spain 89

Dark salmon in color with light intensity.

Light nose of strawberries and citrus with small bubbles.

Sweet and fruity on the palate with raspberries, sweet strawberries, citrus, lemons and apples.

Medium finish with sweet raspberries.

What a fun sparkling Rosé from Spain this is. Sweet and bubbly and Great for parties.

Good by itself as a sipping wine, by the porch or pool.

I took it to an afternoon party, and it was a big hit. Everyone at the party loved it.

A blend of Chardonnay, Shiraz and Grenache.

I paired it with a charcuterie board of meats and cheeses.

Light yellow in color with a golden hue.

Soft nose of lemons, citrus, pears, yellow apples, yeast, almonds, minerals, bitter herbs, grapefruits, spices and white pepper.

Medium plus in body with medium plus acidity and tiny and intense bubbles.

Dry on the palate with lemons, citrus, green apples, grapefruits, bitter herbs, vegetables, earth, yeast, sea salt, bread and minerals.

Medium finish with bitter almonds.

This is an enjoyable Spanish Cava. Showing nice complexity and balance. I liked the bubbly mouthfeel. It has a champagne feel for half the price.

A good food wine. I paired it with a cheese plate and appetizers.

Fermi Bohigas Semi Sec Cava Reserva DO Non Vintage Catalonia, Spain

Light yellow in color with a golden hue.

Great fruity nose with citrus, lemons, red apples, pineapples, yeast, white flowers, spices, bread, minerals, tropical fruits, peaches and white pepper.

Medium bodied with medium plus acidity and very fine bubbles.

Dry to off dry on the palate with citrus, lemons, green vegetables, herbs, earth, bread, tropical fruits, peaches, minerals and white pepper.

Long finish with lemons and almonds.

This is a wonderful surprise. This Semi Sec Cava is well balanced and enjoyable by itself or with food. Showing great complexity and mouthfeel. Crisp and refreshing.

I loved the smooth bubbles, and the combination of the yeast with the fruits.

I paired it with light appetizers.

Poema Cava Metodo Tradicional Brut Rosé Non-Vintage, Spain

 

Light orange in color.

Light nose of strawberries, overripe cherries, limes, minerals, citrus and tangerines.

Medium plus in body with medium plus acidity and lots of bubbles.

Very dry on the palate with strawberries, limes, grapefruits, raspberries, citrus, sea salt, white pepper, minerals, spices and peppercorn.

Medium finish with bitter almonds.

This is a dry sparkling Rosé from Spain. A little over the hill by now, but since it’s a non-vintage, I’m not sure how old it is.

It should be an above-average Cava when fresh. At this stage it’s still drinkable, though.

A good food wine or just to sip on by the pool.

This is a nice Spanish sparkling wine. Simple and balanced with a nice mouthfeel.

Cavas Joseph Masachs Mas Fi Brut Cava Nature Reserva Non-Vintage, Spain

On the nose, citrus, lemons, yeast, green apples and bread.

Medium bodied with large bubbles and medium acidity.

Dry on the palate with citrus, lemons, bread, yeast, minerals, green apples, spices and white pepper.

Short finish with limes and bitter herbs.

This Spanish sparkling is drinking nicely now with nice acidity, mild complexity and lots of yeast notes at a good quality.

I kept it in my cellar for 3 years, and it is much better now than when it was fresh.

I paired it with light appetizers.

Rondel Brut Cava NV, Spain

Yellow in color with a golden tint.

Fruity nose of citrus, lemons, apples, diesel, white pepper, spices, grass and white pepper.

Medium bodied with obnoxious bobbles and high acidity.

Dry on the palate with limes, grapefruits, citrus, green apples, minerals and white pepper.

Short finish with bitter almonds.

This is a drinkable Cava from Spain. Unbalanced and simple. Harsh on the palate and better with food. Bitter and tart for my taste.

I paired it with almond soup, which was interesting, but paired very nicely.

Barcelona Chic Brut Cava NV, Spain

Short finish with bitter almonds.

A nice Spanish sparkling wine. Refreshing, simple and crisp.
Better with food than just by itself.
Didn’t go well with spicy food, though.

A blend of 35% Macabeu, 35% Xarello and 30% Parellada. The traditional way to make Cava.
