Chateau Bellevue Bordeaux 2014

Bellevue Bordeaux 2014

My Rating 75 Points

Light red in color with a pink rim.

Not so pleasant on the nose, with red currants, strawberries, cherries, barnyard, peppercorn, metals and minerals.

Light bodied and Very harsh on the palate, with sour cherries, strawberries, plums, oak, licorice, oak and white pepper.

Long, tart finish with green tannins and white pepper.

Tart, unbalanced and unattractive. Might be better in a couple of years. Definitely a food wine and not to be had by itself.

A blend of 65% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Cabernet Franc.

12% alcohol by volume.

  1. This wine is way to young and probably will never be a great (even very good) wine, as it’s viscosity will likely not improve with age. It shows the power of a good label. This bottle looks like a big Bordeaux and will tempt an unwary buyer into a bad choice. This was a great review as it told it like it is and cautioned buyers to beware of grand labels with out great reputations. Keep them coming. I must say the I like bad reviews as much as good, if not better, because they are really hard to write.
