Gaderian Wines Henry Ranch Chenin Blanc 2019 Napa Valley, California



Light yellow in color with a golden hue.

On the nose citrus, pears, lemons, spices, light oak and light vegetables.

Light to medium in body with medium plus acidity and long legs.

Dry on the palate with limes, light grapefruits, green apples, earth, bitter herbs, spices and white pepper.

Tangy finish with herbs.

This is probably my first Chenin Blanc from Napa Valley.

A good quality wine. Spicy and entertaining. Refreshing and crisp, and not as fruity as I expected it to be.

This Single Vineyard Chenin Blanc has an old world feel.

Easy drinking and good for the pool.

I paired it with a baked Brie cheese and crackers.

Beaulieu Vineyard Georges de Latour Private Reserve Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2007, California

Dark ruby in color, almost Inky, with a short brick rim. Not showing age at all.

Strong nose of of blackberries, cooked cherries, figs, raisins, vanilla, cedar, licorice, cola, coffee, Indian spices, peppercorn, tobacco and dark chocolates.

Full-bodied and bold with medium acidity.

Dry and very fruity on the palate with blackberries, black currants, plums, cooked cherries, cedar, vanilla, spices, espresso, cola, light herbs, peppercorn, pencil lead, dark coffee, dark chocolates, earth and licorice.

Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.

This is a gorgeous 15 year old Cabernet Sauvignon from the great 2007 vintage. Opulent, spicy and elegant. Rich and extracted.

Showing great complexity and a gorgeous mouthfeel. Well balanced and fruit forward.

Good right out of the bottle, but oh so much better after 3 hours of airtime. Please be patient, it is so worth it.

Has a teeth staining color, so not a good choice for a first date. You’re welcome.

Still shows so much fruit, and
has 10 to 15 years in it. This is fantastic and delicious.

Good by itself or with food. I paired it with a beautiful piece of steak.

Deep gold in color.

Strong nose of yellow apples, spices, oak, vanilla and lemons.

Full bodied and bold with medium acidity and fat legs.

Dry on the palate with citrus, apples, oak, vanilla, spices, overripe pears, bitter herbs and nuts.

Medium finish with lemons and almonds.

This is a very tasty Chardonnay from Napa Valley. Showing nice complexity and mouthfeel. Nicely balanced and fruit forward.

This Single Vineyard is still young and showing lots of oak and vanilla notes. Would be nice to revisit it in a year or two.

Good by itself or with food. I paired it with a horseradish Cheddar cheese and fresh berries.

Kukeri Wines Atlas Peak Cabernet Sauvignon 2018 Napa Valley, California

Deep purple in color with a short purple rim.

Fruity nose of blackberries, black currants, sweet cherries, dried fruits, toasted cedar, vanilla, licorice, light vegetables, sweet tobacco, spices, dark chocolates, coffee, mocha and black pepper.

Full bodied with medium acidity and long legs.

Dry and fruity on the palate with blackberries, black plums, cooked cherries, cedar, earth, vanilla, spices, espresso, tobacco, herbs, peppercorn, pencil lead and dark chocolates.

Nice finish with fine grained tannins and tangy cherries.

This is a delicious Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley. Showing nice complexity with a nice mouthfeel. Although still very young, the nose is already wonderful.

Easy drinking and good right out of the bottle. Once it opens up (1 hour), earthy notes show up, and make it more interesting.

A good quality wine with good potential to become a 94+ point wine.

This young Cabernet Sauvignon will continue to age nicely in the next 10 to 15 years.

Will pair nicely with BBQ Meats.

A blend of mostly Cabernet Sauvignon grapes with some Merlot, Petit Verdot and Malbec. Aged for 30 months in French oak barrels (30% new). A small production of only 6 barrels.

Full bodied and bold with medium acidity.

Dry and very fruity on the palate with blackberries, black currants, cooked cherries, cedar, tobacco, vanilla, raisins, dried fruits, chocolates, mocha, coke, earth, herbs and peppercorn.

Long finish with round tannins and tangy cherries.

This 12 year Napa Cabernet is delicious now. Showing good structure with nice complexity and mouthfeel.

Fruit forward, rich and extracted. In your face kind of wine, which I liked. Peaking now.

Needs a couple of hours to open up properly and show the tannins.

Kanpai Wines Cabernet Sauvignon Rosé 2020, Napa Valley, California


Salmon in color with an orange hue.

On the nose raspberries, citrus, strawberries, limes, green apples and minerals.

Medium bodied with medium plus acidity. Crisp and refreshing.

Dry on the palate with limes, grapefruits, citrus, green apples, light raspberries, bitter herbs, earth and light black pepper.

Medium finish with soft tannins bitter almonds and limes.

This is a crisp Rosé from Napa Valley. Earthier than I expected it to be, actually. Feels like a French Rosé.

Spicy and entertaining with a nice grip, which is interesting.

A nice and easy drinking Rosé for the pool. Will pair nicely with food too.

Made with Cabernet Sauvignon grapes.

12.5% alcohol by volume.

Smith-Madrone Vineyards Spring Mountain District Chardonnay 2017 Napa Valley, California



A pretty deep gold in color.

Fruity nose with red and yellow apples, citrus, herbs, spices, toasted oak, marzipan, light vanilla and white pepper. Lovely nose.

Full bodied and creamy with medium acidity and long fat legs.

Dry on the palate with citrus, limes, vanilla, oak, lemons, apples, pears, spices, bitter herbs and black pepper.

Medium plus in length on the finish with almonds.

This is a very enjoyable Chardonnay from Napa Valley.
Showing a nice mouthfeel with nice complexity.

Easy drinking and good by itself or with food. A good quality wine, tangy and spicier than I expected.

Needs time to open up properly, and better when not too cold.

This 4 year old is drinking very nicely now. I had the 2016 a year ago and loved it even more.

Will be nice to revisit it in a few years.

I paired it with cheeses and crackers by the pool.

Chardonnay grapes were barrel fermented and aged for 10 months in (75% new) French oak barrels.

It’s time for a delicious Cabernet for my #FridayCabernetfix.

Deep purple in color with a wide purplish rim.

Fruity nose of blueberries, black plums, cooked cherries, cedar, vanilla, spices, espresso, earth, light vegetables, chocolates, tobacco, licorice, herbs and peppercorn.

Medium plus in body and smooth, with medium acidity and long legs.

Dry on the palate with blackberries, black currants, cherries, spices, tobacco leaf, licorice, chocolates, vanilla, cedar, earth, herbs, peppercorn and pencil lead.

Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy cherries and red chili powder.

This is a delicious Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley. Still very young and needs a few years in the bottle to mature, but already very yummy.

Elegant and rich, with nice complexity and good structure. The high alcohol is not too noticeable.

Will age nicely in the next 10 years, and shows good potential to become a 94+ point wine.

Needs an hour to open up and bring the tannins to the game.
Gets earthier as it opens up.

A great wine to have all by itself, or with a nice piece of steak. I paired it with cheeses, meats and crackers.

Aged in (75% new) American oak barrels for 21 months. A tiny production of only four barrels.

Dark ruby in color with a wide purplish rim.

On the nose black currants, plums, cooked cherries, cedar, vanilla, spices, espresso, cola, light herbs, earth and black pepper.

Full bodied and smooth with medium acidity.

Dry on the palate with black currants, figs, black plums, cherries, dried fruits, vanilla, cedar, spices, chocolates, coffee, light cola, pencil lead, earth and leather.

Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.

This is a delicious Bordeaux blend from Napa Valley. Nicely aged with a beautiful nose and palate.

Shows great complexity with a great mouthful.

This 14 year old is drinking so very nicely now, and will continue in the next five years. Has a lot of oomph in it still.

Good right out of the bottle, and even better as it opens up and shows more complexity and tannins.

I actually had a blind and called Cabernet based Bordeaux blend from Napa 2007. Doesn’t happen too often, but sometimes it does

This Cabernet from the great 2007  vintage is showing wonderfully now. At its peak. I had the 2010 not too long ago and loved it too.

A blend of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Petite Verdot and 5% Malbec.

Herzog Wine Cellars Special Reserve Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2017, California

This is a very tasty Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley.

Showing black fruits with chocolate notes, tobacco, vanilla, licorice, light cedar, cola, cloves, light earth and herbs.

Full bodied and smooth with medium acidity and long legs.

Dry on the palate and fruit forward.

Nice length on the finish with fine grained tannins and cherries.

Still young and needs a few years in the bottle to mature properly, but already very yummy.

Good right out of the bottle, and better after an hour of airtime.

Will continue to age nicely in the next 5 years.

I had their Special Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon from Alexander Valley a year ago, and this Napa version is much better.

Well-balanced with a nice mouthfeel. Easy drinking and good by itself or with food. I paired it with BBQ Meats.

13% alcohol by volume. Kosher and Mevushal.
