Light reddish in color with a wide pinkish hue.
Funky nose of cherries, strawberries, barnyard, vegetables, river rocks and spices.
Light to medium in body with medium plus acidity.
Dry on the palate with strawberries, raspberries, spices, licorice, peppercorn and earth.
Medium on the finish with soft tannins and red chili pepper.
This is an easy drinking Grenache from Santa Rita Hills in California. A good everyday wine. Spicy, yet light.
Good by itself or with food. Might be a good idea to give it a light chill, and have it by the porch on a warm day.
Needs an hour to open up properly, and much better on the palate after 90 minutes of airtime.
This is not a typical California Grenache. Feels similar to a South American Pinot Noir. Definitely an interesting wine.
Would be interesting to see how it evolves in the next 5 to 7 years.
I paired it with cheeses and crackers.
13.5% alcohol by volume.
