Burgundy in color with medium intensity.
On the nose black cherries, currants, light oak, earth, Italian spices, dark chocolates, tobacco leaf, herbs and light vegetables.
Medium plus in body with medium acidity.
Dry on the palate with currants, plums, black cherries covered with milk chocolates, oak, tobacco leaf, herbs and peppercorn.
Medium length on the finish with fine grained tannins and tangy cranberries.
This is a very interesting red wine from Southern California. My first time trying this grape variety. Feels like a Southern Italy red.
Showing mild complexity with a soft mouthfeel. Fruity with lots of chocolate notes, with enough earthy notes to balance it out.
Needs 20 minutes to open up properly, so be patient.
Good by itself or with food. A nice sipping wine and good for parties too.
Aged in French oak barrels for 30 months.
88 points.
