Ghost Cellars Reserve 2017, Paso Robles, California

Pretty color of dark ruby with a wide reddish rim.

Fruity nose with blueberries, black currants, black plums, cooked cherries, oak, licorice, vanilla, earth, light herbs, coffee, tobacco, spices and peppercorn.

Full-bodied and smooth with medium acidity.

Dry on the palate with black currants, plums, cherries, wood, spices, peppercorn, dark chocolates, light diet cola and earth.

Medium length on the finish with round tannins and tangy raspberries.

This is a very tasty Cabernet Sauvignon from Paso Robles. Showing nice complexity with a soft mouthfeel.

Still young and would benefit from a a few more years in the bottle, but already drinking nicely, even by itself.

Nice to see a low ABV here, and showing true typicity to the region, both on the nose and palate.

Good by itself or with food. Tangy and interesting.

Needed some time to open up. I gave it 90 minutes, and that’s when the tannins and more structure came in.

I paired it with a Charcuterie board of meats and cheeses.

A blend of 92% Cabernet Sauvignon 6% Cabernet Franc and 2% Merlot. Aged in French Oak barrels.

13.4% alcohol by volume.

91 points.
