This 10 year old Cabernet Sauvignon from Washington State is a nice surprise. Doesn’t show its age at all, at this point.
Medium plus in body with medium plus acidity.
Dry on the palate and good with food.
After a couple of hours of airtime it shows, red and black fruits with earth, wood, spices, peppercorn, bell pepper, vegetables, herbs, graphite and black coffee.
Nice finish with round tannins and tangy pomegranates.
Wine Enthusiasts 87 Points.
A little off balance, but has nice structure with a nice mouthfeel.
I’ve had it before, but at a younger age. Now it feels like a California Merlot, actually. Very interesting to try these kind of wines.
I paired it with a Charcuterie board of meats and cheeses.
Aged in French oak barrels (30% new).
13.9% alcohol by volume.
