It’s time for my #FridayCabernetfix. Here is a great Cabernet Franc from Lodi.
Dark ruby in color with a short reddish rim.
Very fruity on the nose with blackberries, sweet cherries, black currants, oak, vanilla, licorice, cloves, raisins, spices, dried figs, tobacco, chocolates, mocha, coffee, peppercorn, earth, leather and coke.
Full bodied, elegant and bold, with medium acidity and long legs.
Dry and extremely fruity on the palate with blackberries, black plums, cherries, wood, cloves, light vegetables, pencil lead, chocolates, tobacco, herbs, leather, earth, light bell pepper and peppercorn.
Medium plus in finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.
This is a big and chewy Cabernet Franc from California. Well balanced and fruit forward, with nice complexity and a great mouthfeel.
Good right out of the bottle and better as it opens up and shows some tannins (1 hour).
Good by itself as a sipping wine, by the porch, or with a big piece of steak. I paired it with a charcuterie board of meats and cheeses.
Wine Enthusiasts 90 points.
A great example of how I like my Cabernet Franc. Yummy, rich and delicious.
15.5% alcohol by volume.
