Michael David Winery Seven Deadly Red 2015 Lodi, California

Dark ruby in color with a wide purplish rim.

Very fruity on the nose with blackberries, black currants, cooked strawberries, cherry pie, raisins, dried fruits, light oak, vanilla, spices, chocolates, licorice, earth, pencil lead and black pepper.

Full-bodied and bold with medium acidity and long long legs.

Dry and extremely fruity on the palate with blackberries, black plums, vanilla, licorice, earth, spices, peppercorn, chocolates, tobacco, graphite and light vegetables.

Medium finish with soft tannins and tangy raspberries.

This is an enjoyable Red Blend from Lodi California. Very fruity and spicy with mild complexity and a great mouthfeel.

Good right out of the bottle and better as it opens up and builds some structure.

Good for parties and good by itself or with food.

15% alcohol by volume.

89 points.

$15.

  1. Yes I tried it earlier this year and I liked it a lot too. A bit on the pricey side compared to the other red blends that I buy usually though. Their 7 deadly zins Lodi old vine Zinfandel is very good too.
