Kendall Jackson Vintner’s Reserve Pinot Gris 2016, California

Pale lemon in color with a green hue.

Fruity nose with citrus, lemons, grapefruits, grass, green apples, white pepper and minerals. Pretty much a sauvignon blanc nose.

Medium-bodied, crisp and refreshing, with medium plus acidity.

Dry on the palate with limes, lemons, grapefruits, green apples, spices, light herbs and black pepper.

Medium plus on the finish with bitter almonds and spices.

This is an above-average Pinot Gris from California. Nicely balanced with mild complexity and refreshing acidity.

Good by itself to drink by the pool, or with food. I paired it with heavy appetizers and cheeses.
