Kendall Jackson Vintner’s Reserve Pinot Gris 2016, California

Pale straw in color with a golden hue.

On the nose grapefruits, limes, green apples, white pepper, spices and grass. Smells like a Sauvignon Blanc from the Loire.

Medium plus in body with medium acidity, crisp and refreshing.

Dry on the palate with citrus, lemons, green apples, grapefruits, bitter herbs, white pepper, spices and green vegetables.

Short finish with citrus and bitter almonds.

This is a nice California Pinot Gris. Nicely balanced and simple. Good by the pool, and with food too.

I paired it with a charcuterie board of Meats and cheeses. It paired really nicely with cheddar with horseradish cheese.
