Michael David Winery Earthquake Cabernet Sauvignon 2014 Lodi, California

My Rating 91 Points.

Price $23.

Time for my Friday’s Cabernet fix. This time I’m doubling up…

Deep purple/Inky in color with a purplish rim.

Fruity nose of blackberries, blueberries, cherries, licorice, oak, vanilla, chocolate cake, dark coffee, mocha, earth, cola, spice box and peppercorn.

Full bodied and bold with medium acidity and long legs.

Extra fruity on the palate with blackberries, black currants, plums, cooked strawberries, spices, pencil lead, leather, licorice, vanilla, cedar, chocolates, tobacco, mocha, coke, beef jerky and peppercorn.

Long finish with round tannins and tangy cranberries.

This Cabernet Sauvignon from Lodi is always enjoyable. Well balanced and complex. Fruity with enough acidity to balance it out. This 3-year-old is drinking very nicely now.

15% alcohol by volume.
