J. Lohr Winery Seven Oaks Paso Robles Cabernet Sauvignon 2014, California

My Rating 88 Points.

Price $15.
Dark ruby in color with a short purple rim.

Nice fruity nose with black currants, cherries, plums, earth, vanilla, licorice, oak, peppercorn, spices, chocolates, tobacco, caramel and coffee.

Medium plus in body with medium acidity and nice legs.

Dry and fruity on the palate with blackberries, black currants, prunes, dried figs, vanilla, earth, chocolates, cedar, leather, tobacco leaf, spices, wet stones and black pepper.

Medium plus in finish with firm, yet grainy tannins and tangy cranberries.

This Cabernet from Paso Robles is yummy right out of the bottle. Well balanced and enjoyable by itself or with food. Not simple, but not overly complex either.
Better after an hour of airtime, and good for parties too.

A good replica of a Napa Cabernet at a lower price point.

I paired it with cheeses and light appetizers by the pool.

Aged for 12 months in Oak barrels.

13.5% alcohol by volume.
