Time for my Friday’s Cabernet fix. This week it’s a unique Cab from Sonoma County.
Purple in color with medium intensity and a reddish rim.
Beautiful nose of bing cherry, sweet strawberries, blueberries, cherry pie, spices, vanilla, wood, coke, dust, milk chocolates, red candy, flowers and black pepper.
Light to medium in body with medium acidity, smooth and elegant with long legs.
Dry on the palate with cherries, sweet strawberries, ripe raspberries, vanilla, earth, cinnamon, mint, licorice, pencil lead, light vegetables, herbs, spices and black pepper.
Long finish with velvety tannins and tangy cherries.
This is a Cabernet Sauvignon For the Pinot lover. Well-balanced, complex and interesting. Shows a smooth and velvety mouthfeel with a beautiful nose.
A good quality Single Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon from California, but too light for my preference.
Needs an hour to open up properly. It is drinkable right out of the bottle, but it would be a shame not to let it breathe, and show its qualities.
Although this is not my style of Cabernet Sauvignon, I really liked it. The tangy ending makes it lively and interesting.
Aged for 18 months in French oak barrels. Only 52 cases produced.
14.5% alcohol by volume.
