Wine Maker’s selection Lobo’s Shiraz Non-Vintage, Spain

My Rating 80 Points.

Price $10.
Dark ruby in color with a wide ruby/ orange rim.

Nice fruity nose of black currants, blueberries, cherries, black plums, raspberries, earth, wood, vanilla, cloves, spices, leather, pencil lead, vinaigrette and peppercorn.

Medium in body with high acidity and nice legs.

Tart on the attack, and on the palate, strawberries, cherries, cranberries, light vanilla, licorice, black tea, earth, leather, spices, light vegetables and peppercorn.

Medium finish with fine grained tannins and tart cherries.

This Spanish Shiraz is unbalanced and simple. Much nicer on the nose, than the palate.

Better with food than just by itself. A simple table wine. I’m not sure how old it is since it’s a non vintage, but it might be over the hill by now.

12.5% alcohol by volume.
