My Rating 84 Points.
Deep inky in color with a short purple rim.
Strong fruity nose with black currants, cherries, oak, vanilla, licorice, cloves, earth, vegetables, spices, peppercorn, tobacco, chocolates, dark coffee, spices and bell pepper.
Full bodied and bold, with medium acidity and nice legs.
Dry on the palate with blackberries, black currants, plums, bell pepper, oak, vanilla, licorice, earth, pencil lead, dried figs, green pepper, bitter herbs and peppercorn.
Medium length on the finish with green, bitter tannins and tangy cranberries.
This Paso Robles Petite Verdot is nice, but not very special. A bit unbalanced with mild complexity and green notes. Bitter on the finish.
A good food wine that will pair nicely with BBQ Meats.
One additional year in the bottle might help, but I’m not sure it would be a big difference.
