My Rating 90 Points.
This Friday, my Cabernet fix is from Alexander Valley.
Dark ruby in color with a dark purple rim.
Strong nose of blackberries, black currants, sweet cherries, cedar, vanilla, leather, earth, spices, licorice, chocolates, peppercorn, tobacco, herbs and beef jerky.
Full bodied with medium acidity and nice long legs.
Dry on the palate with blackberries, black currants, plums, bell pepper, oak, vanilla, licorice, earth, spices, leather, smoke, chocolates, mocha, dark coffee and peppercorn.
Long finish with firm and tight tannins.
This Cabernet Sauvignon is always delicious. Drinkable right out of the bottle, and better as it opens up. Has a great mouthfeel, with nice balance and complexity.
A Good food wine too. Oaky and enjoyable.
Could be good for parties, or just by itself as a sipping wine as, I had it. As it opens up, more vegetable and bitter notes show up.
This Cabernet has in it enough to take it to the next level, if aged for a little longer ( 5 to 10 years).
88% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc, 1% Malbec and 1% Petit Verdot. Aged in oak barrels for 14 months.
14.2% alcohol by volume.
