Pavillion La Tourelle Bordeaux Rouge 2013 Bordeaux, France

My Rating 75 Points.

Price $12.

Light ruby/red in color with a wide ruby rim.

Fruity nose of strawberries, cherries, currants, licorice, light oak, vegetables, bitter herbs, wet leaves, spices and peppercorn.

Tart on the attack and dry on the palate with sour plums, cranberries, pomegranates, licorice, vegetables, pencil lead, cloves, herbs, earth and black pepper.

Short finish with soft tannins and sour cranberries.

This is a simple table wine from Bordeaux. Unbalanced and better with food. This was probably better a year or two ago. Too tart for my taste. I would rather have something else…

A blend of 50% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon and 25% Cabernet Franc.

12% alcohol by volume.
