Michael David Winery Incognito Red Blend 2013, Lodi California

My Rating 90 Points.

Price $18.

Dark ruby in color with a purple rim.

Very strong fruity nose with black currants, blackberries, figs, raisins, vanilla, sweet raspberries, smoke, chocolates, mocha, earth, wood, licorice, vinegrete and black pepper.

Full bodied, jammy and rich, with medium plus acidity and long legs.

Dry on the palate with raspberries, cherries, strawberries, ripe cranberries, earth, vanilla, licorice, oak, peppercorn and spices.

Long finish with soft tannins and tangy cranberries.

A great blend from the house of Michael David. Soft and well balanced, with nice complexity, and a tangy mouth watering finish. Enjoyable by itself, good right out of the bottle, and a little better after an hour.

This 4 year old is drinking very nicely now and will be good in the next few years. I kept it for a couple of years in my cellar, to see if there are any changes, but I don’t see a reason for that. Great vintage as it is.

A good sipping wine that will also work well with grilled meats.

A blend of Syrah, Petite Sirah, Mourvedre and Grenache.

14.5% alcohol by volume.
