Don Sebastiani & Sons The Crusher Petite Sirah 2014, California

My Rating 85 Points.

Price $13.

Ruby in color with medium intensity and a wide purplish rim.

Strong nose of fresh red berries and blueberries, plums, figs, tar, wood, vanilla, licorice, coffee, sweet raspberries, cigarette smoke, spices, chocolates and black pepper.

Medium to full-bodied with medium acidity and nice legs.

Dry on the palate with plums, cherries, coffee, chocolates, oak, licorice, spices and peppercorn.

Medium finish with soft tannins, red pepper and spices.

This inexpensive Petite Sirah is drinking nicely now without too much tannins. Well balanced and enjoyable by itself or with food.

Not very complex but enjoyable nonetheless, with a light mouthfeel. Easy drinking and good right out of the bottle, although it got a little better after an hour or so.
A nice, above average, everyday table wine.

13.5% alcohol by volume.
