Allegrini Palazzo Della Torre Veronese 2013, Italy

My Rating 88 Points.

Price $22.

Dark ruby in color with a wide brick rim.

Beautiful nose of red fruits, cherries, plums, figs, blueberries, wood, vegetables, red flowers, cucumber peel, fresh green beans, bell pepper, earth, spices and peppercorn.

Medium to full-bodied with a round mouthfeel, medium plus in acidity and long-legs.

Dry and fruity on the attack with blueberries, figs, cherries, licorice, chocolates, green vegetables, bell pepper, bitter herbs, mocha, oak, spices and peppercorn.

Nice length on the finish with soft tannins and tangy raspberries.

This Italian ripasso look alike is pleasant and enjoyable. Good right out of the bottle and becomes earthier as it opens up. Nicely balanced with enough complexity to make it interesting to drink by itself.

Drinking very nicely now with a pleasurable mouthfeel and nice acidity.

Good by itself as a sipping wine, and a good food wine as well. It has enough juice to hold it nicely for the next couple of years.

I had it with hard cheeses and nice weather by the pool.

13.5% alcohol by volume.
