Casadei Songo Mediterraneo Mediterranean Blend 2013 Tuscany, Italy

My Rating 87 Points.

Price $25.

Ruby in color with a wide reddish rim.

Light nose of cherries, strawberries, raspberries, licorice, vanilla, spices, green beans, earth, leather, coffee, bell pepper, tobacco, spices, chocolates and peppercorn.

Medium bodied with medium acidity and nice long legs.

Dry on the palate with blueberries, strawberries, cherries, licorice, oak, vanilla, earth, wet rocks, tar, cola, dark chocolates, green pepper and peppercorn.

Nice length on the finish with firm tannins and black pepper.

A nice GSM from Tuscany, with a lot of interaction between the 3 ingredients. Earthy and balanced with nice complexity. Enjoyable by itself or with food. Drinking very nicely now.

Needs an hour to open up properly and show some tannins and earthiness.

A blend of 60% Syrah, 20% Grenache and 20% Mourvedre.

14% alcohol by volume.
