J. Lohr Winery Seven Oaks Paso Robles Cabernet Sauvignon 2014, California

My Rating 88 Points.

Price $15.

Dark inky in color with a purple rim.

Strong nose of blackberries, vanilla, cedar, leather, chocolates, tobacco, licorice, peppercorn, spices and earth.

Full bodied with medium acidity, long legs, smooth and buttery.

Very fruity on the palate with blackberries, black currants, plums, cooked cherries, oak, vanilla, licorice, earth, spices, peppercorn, smoke, chocolates and mocha.

Long finish with fine grained tannins and raspberries.

A very enjoyable Cabernet Sauvignon, that is a Napa Cabernet look a like. A bit jammy and not completely balanced, but I liked it.

Drinking nicely now with a nice tangy ending. Good right out of the bottle, but better after 30 minutes of airtime.

Aged for 12 months in Oak barrels.

I paired it with a cheese plate of hard and soft cheeses and some fresh fruits.

13.5% alcohol by volume.
