Daou Vinyards Cabernet Sauvignon 2014 Paso Robles, California

My Rating 88 Points.

Price $25.
Here is my Friday’s Cabernet fix…

Ruby in color with medium intensity and a purplish rim.

Fruity nose of blackberries, blueberries, cherries, plums, oak, vanilla, licorice, cloves, sage, light vegetables, alcohol, red candy, medicine, vinaigrette, black pepper and spices.

Medium plus in body and elegant, with medium acidity and thin long legs.

Dry and fruity on the palate with blueberries, plums, sweet cherries, light vegetables, licorice, oak, vanilla, sweet candy and black pepper.

Long finish with nice tannins.

This Cabernet Sauvignon from Paso Robles, is good right out of the bottle. Not very complex, but elegant, and very enjoyable by itself or with food.

Did not change much in a decanter, and a good party wine.
Will probably improve in the next couple of years.

I paired it with a roast beef sandwich.

14.2% alcohol by volume.
