Primus The Blend 2013 Colchagua, Chile

My Rating 83 Points.

Price $20.

Deep inky color with a purplish rim.

Light nose of cooked cherries, black currants, sweet plums, green pepper, earth, sage, peppermint, forest floor, leather, chocolates, tobacco, herbs, spices and peppercorn.

Full bodied with medium plus acidity and long legs.

Dry and fruity on the palate with blackberries, black currants, plums, bell pepper, cherries, oak, vanilla, licorice, earth, spices, forest floor, smoke, bitter herbs and peppercorn.

Medium plus in finish with medium round tannins and bitter almonds.

A nice red blend from Chile. Very earthy and green, with bitter notes at the ending. Complex and interesting, but not balanced enough.

Better with food than just by itself.
Needs a year or two in the bottle to mature.

A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Merlot And Carmenere.

14.5% alcohol by volume.
