Robert Foley Vinyards Napa Valley Pepperland Petite Sirah 2006, California

My Rating 89 Points.

Price $50.

Deep, dark Inky in color with a short dark purple rim.

Wonderful nose of sweet dark fruits, blackberries, figs, raisins, cooked plums, strawberry pie, licorice, cloves, light vegetables, vanilla, cedar, tobacco, earth, leather, coffee, chocolates, light alcohol, spices and peppercorn.

Full bodied, big, bold and smooth, with high acidity and great legs.

Dry and extremely fruity on the palate with blackberries, plums, cherries, currants, oak, vanilla, cedar, leather, chocolates, tobacco, green pepper, mocha, espresso and peppercorn.

Medium plus on the finish with soft tannins and raspberries.

A very extracted and rich Petite Sirah from Napa Valley, California.
A bit unbalanced and tart at the ending, but a good wine, nonetheless, with nice complexity and lots of sediments.

This 10 year old has reached it’s peak a year or two ago, and I’m not sure if it has enough in it to last any longer. So this would be a good time to drink yours before it’s too late.

Needs 3 hours to open up properly.
15.1% alcohol by volume.
