Daou Vinyards Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve 2013, Paso Robles California

My Rating 93 Points.

Price $70.

Here we go again. My Friday’s Cabernet fix. What a delicious treat.

Deep burgundy in color with a purplish rim.

Napa nose with black currants, cooked cherries, sweet plums, blackberries, vanilla, cedar, leather, chocolates, licorice, cinnamon, coffee, earth, spices, peppercorn and tobacco.

Full bodied and bold, with medium plus acidity and long lasting legs.

On the palate, same as on the nose, very much like a Napa Cabernet. Blackberries, plums, cherries, currants, oak, vanilla, licorice, cloves, earth, leather, coffee, tobacco, spices, chocolates, cola, peppercorn and leather.

Long finish with firm tannins and black pepper.

A great Cabernet Sauvignon from Paso Robles, California. Complex and interesting, with a great mouthfeel and nice balance.

At a blind tasting, I would call a Napa Cabernet.

Well balanced and enjoyable by itself or with food, like BBQ Meats. I paired it with fillet mingon.

14.2% alcohol by volume.
