Langtry Estate and Wines Geunoc Petite Sirah 2013, California

My Rating 81 Points.

Price $10.
Inky in color with a purplish rim.

Light nose of black currants, cherries, strawberries, wood, licorice, earth, vanilla, vegetables, chocolates, spices and black pepper.

Medium plus in body with high acidity and long legs.

Bone dry on the palate, and tart, with cherries, pomegranate, strawberries, cranberries, earth, vanilla, cedar, graphite, dark chocolates, coffee, bell pepper, bitter herbs and peppercorn.

Tart finish with round tannins and pomegranates.

This 3 year old, is already on its way out. Not too much on the fruits side, and now it became very earthy.

This wine needs to be consumed while it’s fresh. It reminds me a lot of a an inexpensive Merlot based Bordeaux.

Better with food, but I enjoyed it paired with the sunset, all by itself.
13.5% alcohol by volume.
