Here is my Friday’s Cabernet…
Inky in color with a purplish rim.
A “Textbook” Napa nose with black currants, blackberries, cherry pie, vanilla, cedar, leather, chocolates, cinnamon, tobacco, licorice, beef jerk, spices and peppercorn. Really, a beautiful nose.
Medium plus in body, ripe and elegant, with medium acidity and long legs.
Fruity and bone dry on the palate, with blackberries, cherries, licorice, oak, vanilla, cloves, earth, leather, smoke, spices and peppercorn.
Long finish with firm tannins and black pepper.
A great Napa Cabernet Sauvignon. Still young, but already enjoyable even by itself, but definitely with food. Well balanced, pleasant and entertaining.
I paired it with a nice piece of Steak.
Needs 1 hour to open up properly, in order to get the green notes out of the way.
Hand picked and hand sorted. Aged in small French oak barrels for 16 months.
I paid $26 for it, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it was sold at the $40 price range. A Good buy.
14% alcohol by volume.
