Burly Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2011, California

My Rating 92 Points.

Price $72.

Ok. I’m ready for my Friday’s Cabernet fix, already! And here it is, a beautiful Napa Cabernet.

Dark inky in color with a dark purple rim.

Gorgeous nose of blackberries, black currants, plums, cooked cherries, tree sap, spices, vanilla, light bell pepper, oak and black pepper.

Full bodied, elegant and smooth, with medium acidity and long running legs.

Dry and fruity on the palate, with blackberries, black currants, cherries, figs, cloves, herbs, earth, pencil lead, cola, vanilla, oak, spices and peppercorn.

Long, caressing finish with extremely soft tannins and cherries.

An awesome Single Vinyard, Napa Cabernet. Well balanced and not too oaky. Very enjoyable all by itself. I would prefer more tannins, though, but it has a great mouthfeel.

A Very small production of 1700 cases, and at $72, it’s not cheap.

I wish it had some more tannins to carry it a few more years in the bottle, to smooth out the kinks.
Otherwise, In one word: delicious.

WS 90 points.

14.5% alcohol by volume.
