Tarima Monastrell 2014 D.O., Spain

Soft Ruby in color with a purplish rim.

Clean nose of blueberries, plums, cherries, dirt, barnyard, eucliptus, oak, licorice, earth and black pepper.

Full bodied, soft and elegant, with high acidity and soft legs.

Fruity on the palate with blackberries, plums, tart strawberries, currants, spicy red pepper, cherries, oak, vanilla, earth, animal notes, licorice, cocoa, dark chocolates, cloves, vegetables and peppercorn.

Long finish with firm, but not too overwhelming, tannins and black pepper.

A nice Spanish red with a nice mouthfeel. Complex, interesting and enjoyable by itself, but better with food.
I paired it with mini burgers and a margarita flat bread.

Very ripe, elegant and soft on the mid palate, but also spicy. Short bitterness and tartness at the ending makes it better suited for food. Drink now, while its fresh and vibrant.

100% Monostrell grapes grown in Alicante, Spain. This grape is the equivalent of Mourvedre, and I don’t remember having 100% Mourvedre, and enjoying it so much.

14.5% alcohol by volume.
