Domaine Skouras Saint George Nemea Aghiorghitiko 2012, Greece

image

My Rating 77 Points.
Price $15.

Light ruby in color with a red rim.

Stinky nose of blackberries, blueberries, plums, flowers, white pepper, smoke, vanilla, cloves, barnyard, wood, spices and earth.

Light to medium bodied with medium acidity.

Fruity on the palate, dry and tart, with cherries, blueberries, strawberries, plums, oak, vanilla, cloves and black pepper.

Long and bitter finish with round tannins, almonds and sour cherries.

This Pinot Noir, look a like, needs to be accompanied with food. Not my taste as it is bitter at the ending. However, interesting and drinkable. Better when chilled.

Grapes are sourced from volcanic soils at an elevation of 2400 feet, in southern Greece.

13.5% alcohol by volume.
