My Rating 86 Points.
Deep Inky in color with a dark purple rim.
Fruity nose with medium intensity and blackberries, black currants, plums, sweet strawberries, figs, cherries, licorice, vanilla, toasted oak, leather, black tea, spices and peppercorn.
Full-bodied, but not bold, with medium acidity and Long Legs.
Dry on the palate with blackberries, blueberries, plums, cherries, currants, oak, coffee, vanilla, dark chocolates, earth and black pepper.
Nice finish with huge, green tannins ( even after two hours in the decanter) spices and lots of black pepper.
This is a nice California Petite Sirah. Still young, but enjoyable already just by itself. Not smooth or elegant but rather abrasive, which fits me perfectly right now.
Nicely balanced with enough fruits for the acidity, it holds. I paired it with hard cheeses and nuts.
Not a big mouthfeel, and a little low on the alcohol, which is not a bad thing necessarily.
13% alcohol by volume.
