HandCraft California Petite Sirah 2012

image

My Rating 86 Points.
Price $10.

This Petite Sirah is still keeping its inky color with a purple rim.

Great fruity nose of blackberries, blueberries, figs, black currants, black cherries, toasted oak, licorice, dark chocolates, spices, prunes, some green pepper, strawberry pie and peppercorn.

Medium to full-bodied, but bold, with medium plus acidity and great legs.

Dry on the palate with cooked plums, sweet cherries, blackberries, currants, wood, vanilla, licorice, chocolate, coffee, mocha, spices and black pepper.

Long finish with soft tannins and some bitter almonds.

This is a nice Californian Petite Syrah, with a gentle mouthfeel.

Enjoyable by itself or with food. Needed an hour to open up. It was a little bitter, right out of the bottle.
Had it a year ago and it did not change much, still doing good.

14.5% alcohol by volume.
