Antinori Matte Albis 2006, Chile

My Rating 93 Points.
Price $50.

Here is a great Chilean Cabernet blend, to welcome the weekend with.

Beautiful color of dark red/burgundy, with a brick rim.

Nice nose of blackberries, blueberries, figs, cherries, strawberries, oak, bell peppers, licorice and peppercorn.

Full-bodied, smooth and elegant, with medium plus acidity and gorgeous legs.

Fruity on the palate with blackberries, blueberries, toasted oak, vanilla, bell pepper, licorice, black currants, forest floor, dirt, black pepper, spices and graphite.
Medium finish with nice, round tannins, spices and black pepper.

What a great red wine. Nice and balanced and very enjoyable by itself or with big hearty foods like a big steak.

A blend of 72% Cabernet Sauvignon and 28% Carmenere.
Needs two hours to open up, any less, is just a waste of good wine…

Elegant and accessible now, with a great mouthfeel. Probably at its peak now, even though, the color doesn’t suggest it at all.

Aged for 18 months in French Oak barrels.

14.8% alcohol by volume.
