Amphorae Winery Cabernet Franc 2010, Israel

My Rating 88 Points.
Price $25.

Dark inky color with a dark purple rim.

Nose full of bell pepper, asparagus, black currants, blackberries, cherries, #vanilla, wood, dirt, forest floor and black pepper.

Full-bodied with long thick legs.

Dry and spicy on the palate with blackberries, black currants, wood, cloves, vanilla, coffee, dark chocolate, and peppercorn.

Long finish with round soft tannins, lime and plenty of black pepper.

A Big Cabernet Franc from Israel with good potential but Still not balanced. Will be good in three to five years. Drinkable now, though. Went great with my steak.

15% alcohol by volume.

  1. I see you checked out the new “Wine Regions of the World” feature I am trying to run monthly. Do you know any Israeli wine makers who I could contact to see if they would be willing to author a post to my blog. I am trying to get people who actually work in the industry in the region to blow their own horn. I would appreciate any names you might come up with that I could contact.

    Poor Robert
