Quivira Vineyards and Winery Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel 2012 Sonoma County, California

image

My Rating 83 Points.
Price $20.

Dark, dirty ruby in color with a very thin purple rim.

Fruity on the nose with blueberries, blackberries, cherries, metals, wood, vanilla, licorice, herbs, chocolate and light black pepper.

Medium-bodied and smooth with nice legs and medium acidity.

Fruity on the palate with blueberries, cherries, strawberries, plums, oak, vanilla, leather, licorice, herbs, spices and peppercorn.

Medium plus on the finish with soft, smooth tannins and sour cherries.

A Nice Zinfandel, but a little bit unbalanced. I expected more from it, actually. I wished it had a bigger mouth feel and it being bolder. Still a nice, elegant Zinfandel, that is not offensive and can be enjoyed by itself. Better with food, though.

Not ready to drink right out of the bottle. Needs 30 minutes to open up, and died very soon after that, though.

14.5% alcohol by volume.
