Rodney Strong Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2013, California

image

My Rating 87 Points.
Price $25.

A very Nice color of Deep ruby with a purplish rim.

Strong cola nose with blackberries, cooked cherries, light green peppers, metals, spices, vanilla, licorice, oak and peppercorn.

Full bodied with great legs and medium acidity.

Dry and Fruity on the palate with blackberries, blueberries, cherries, black currants, cola, licorice, cedar, bell pepper, spices and black pepper.

Long finish with big, round tannins and a flat cola after taste.

A Very enjoyable Cabernet from Sonoma county. Nicely balanced already, yet still young. Good right out of the bottle, but evolving nicely in the decanter.
Has enough complexity to make it interesting. With a nice mouth feel.

Aged in oak barrels.

14.5% alcohol by volume.

  1. Nice review. As a general rule I love Alexander Valley Cabs. Rodney Strong is awfully proud of theirs. At virtually every price point, for the money there are a lot better buys in some of the smaller wineries.
