Sea Horse Winery Zin & Co Zinfandel Blend 2012, Israel

image

My Rating 70 Points.
Price $22.

Smoky, Dark ruby in color with a deep purple rim.

Harsh on the nose with blackberries, nail polish remover, licorice and black pepper.

Medium plus in body with high acidity.

Tart and vinegary on the palate with cherries, strawberries, red Keren and black pepper.

Short and unatractive finish with very little tannins.

This was undrinkable to me, but some of us liked it. Very different. A blend of 70% Zinfandel, 25% Petite Sirah and 5% Mourvedre.

Aged in American oak barrels for eight months. Estate grown with organic grapes.
