Barak Vineyard Red 2013, Judea Hills, Israel

image

My Rating 81 Points.
Price $18.

Deep purple in color, almost inky, with a purple rim.

Tart on the nose with cherries, currants, strawberries, oak, vanilla, licorice, earth and black pepper.

Medium-bodied with medium acidity and nice legs.

Dry on the palate with cherries, plums, strawberries, currants, oak, licorice, sour cranberries and black pepper.

Medium plus on the finish with soft tannins and tart cherries.

A Nice table wine. Not too complex, drinkable by itself, but better with food. A nice blend of Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petite Syrah and Petite Verdot, yet a bit unbalanced.

Aged for 12 months in French oak barrels.

14% alcohol by volume.
