Doña Paula Winery Paula Malbec 2014 Mendoza, Argentina

image

My Rating 81 Points.
Price $11.

Dark ruby in color with medium intensity and a purplish rim.

Mild on the nose with blueberries, cherries, strawberries, oak, light vanilla, white pepper, smoke and metals.

Medium-bodied with medium acidity and nice legs.

Dry and bitter on the palate, with blackberries, blueberries, cherries, oak, green pepper, cloves and earth.

Medium finish with grainy tannins, black pepper and a bitter ending.

This is a simple Malbec yet drinkable now. Not bad at all, but nothing to write home about. Might need another year in the bottle, but I’m not sure it has enough acidity to carry it.

13.8% alcohol by volume.
