Alexander Valley Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon 2013, California

My Rating 91 Points.
Price $20.

Another great wine to welcome the weekend with…

Dark ruby in color with high intensity and a purple rim.

Fruity nose with blackberries, blueberries, strong bell pepper, oak, vanilla, metals, licorice, dark chocolate, smoke and black pepper.

Full bodied with medium acidity and nice legs.

Dry and fruity on the palate with blackberries, plums, (strong) Cherries, flat Cola, Wood, vanilla, licorice, coffee, and black pepper.

Long finish with smooth tannins and some more Cola…

Great wine. Nicely balanced and enjoyable by itself or with a big juicy steak. Still young, though, and needs a few years to hang out in the bottle to get the green vegetables aroma out…
Will be gorgeous in five years.

Mostly Cabernet Sauvignon with small amounts of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Malbec.

Aged for 14 months in oak barrels.

14.2% alcohol by volume.
