7 Deadly Zins Old Vines Zinfandel 2012 Lodi, California

image

My Rating 86 Points.
Price $15.

Ruby in color with medium intensity and a purplish rim.

Fruity on the nose with blackberries, tobacco, cedar, chocolate, vanilla, sweet cherries, wild flowers, bacon, metals, licorice and black pepper.

Full bodied, smooth and elegant with medium acidity and nice legs.

Fruity on the palate with figs, sweet cherries, blackberries, smoke, oak, licorice, vanilla, coffee, spices and peppercorn.

Medium plus on the finish with soft, round tannins and black pepper.

A nice red from Michael David. Not as good as 2011 but drinks nicer now than 6 months ago.

15% alcohol by volume.

      1. Well, I don’t know if I can find all the wines you post about – some might be hard to find in Albuquerque. I always have wine of some sort in each blog post so when I find a bottle of something you’ve already reviewed, perhaps I could mention you and your blog and review and add a link back to the page. Would you be ok with that?
