La Seu 2013 Spain

My Rating 87 Points.
Price $22.

Dark ruby in color with a red rim.

On the nose, blackberries, smoke, chocolate, cherries, plums, tobacco, oak, earth, dirt, beef jerky and black pepper.

Full-bodied and smooth, with a great mouth feel.

Dry on the palate with blackberries, blueberries, plums, tart cherries, strawberries, spices, herbs, oak, earth and black pepper.

Medium plus on the finish with soft tannins and peppercorn.

This is a good quality Spanish, Organic blend of Marselan and Tempranillo. Aged in French oak barrels.

Drinking very well now, smooth and very elegant.

13.9% alcohol by volume.

  1. Timely for me. I will be taking a wine cruise (didn’t plan it that way but turned out to fit), that is incredibly cheap on Wind Surf, the largest sailing ship in the world. It doesn’t stop in Valencia but we will be having regional Spanish wines all the way up the east coast of Spain to Barcelona. This is not a paid promotion, we took a Windstar Cruise once before on a conventional ship, Wind Star, all of their ships carry no more than 300 passengers and are priced well. If you go to the site, the cruise departs on April 24th. Just a thought, not a paid plug.
